Just north of Kiama is the beautiful spot of Minnamurra. A place where the river flows into the ocean with a sandy beach and a sand spit at the river mouth. Kayaking across this waterway is a wonderful treat exploring the landscape and finishing with a swim on a sandy beach. Only 15 km west of Kiama the Minnamurra Rainforest is a wonderful spot to visit, offering the opportunity to experience a rare rainforest, a representative of the once extensive rainforests of the south coast. Exploring this section of the south coast you will come across lyrebirds, Australian water dragons and a large collection of bird species which make this place their home.
